After over 30 years of riding experience and running a successful
motorcycle training school for the last 10 years i have noticed the
traffic on our roads has increased more than tenfold and the road
etiquette has decreased towards learner motorcyclists to near zero.
I’m sure that most parents would agree with me their child’s safety
is paramount and that although the CBT (compulsory Basic Training day)
introduced by the D.S.A (Driving Standards Agency) back in 1990 was a
major step in the right direction, i do strongly feel 3-4 hrs off road
and 2 hrs on the road riding is not really enough time to give novice riders
adequate time or experience riding to keep them safe.
This is why Dorset Advanced Motorcycle Training would like to offer our
2 day novice rider course to all first time novice riders in groups
of no more than 2 pupils.
The course will consist of:-
On booking, an information pack including copy of the Highway Code, DVD,
and CBT notes will be sent out.
Day 1
will be the CBT elements A-C including basic bike safety checks
and maintenance, lunch followed by element D practical on-road theory training.
Day 2
will be a short recap of Junctions, roundabouts and hazard perception
answer any questions pupils may have, then out on the road for practical
on-road riding.
This course is exclusive to Dorset Advanced Motorcycle Training and has been
introduced to help parents, to 'Put Their Minds At Ease'.
We Put our new motorcyclists safety first and insist that anybody under the age
of 17 take this 2 day course and highly recommend it to everyone else.
